What is the difference between a CPM and CNM?
Certified Professional Midwives (CPM's):
National midwifery certifications are provided through the North American Registry of Midwives. This organization creditentials Certified Professional Midwives. Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM's) may also apply for this certification.

Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM's)
The American Midwifery Certification Board credentials Certified Nurse Midwives and Certified Midwives. Certified Nurse Midwives may practice in the hospital or out of hospital setting.
