Jana Johnston, cpm

Jana began attending births first as a doula in 2011 and teaching childbirth education classes and workshops for couples and doulas since 2014.
She began her formal midwifery training in 2015, and did apprenticeships with a number of experienced Christian midwives including Mary Bernabe, Carol Gautschi, Diane Goslin, Heidi Yanello, Michelle Freund, and Amber Walla.
 also spent time with midwives in Guatemala and Mexico, and in that way learned about Latin traditions of midwifery care of the childbearing woman. She finished her certified professional midwife credential with NARM in September 2020 and started her midwifery practice, called the Blessing Mothers Clinic, in October 2020. Jana is bilingual and specifically has a heart to provide midwifery care to Spanish-speaking and immigrant community of Kansas City. Jana is passionate about supporting moms and their families to experience giving birth in a way that fills their heart with love and joy as God intended birthing and motherhood & fatherhood to do.
